The Beatles Remastered Stereo CDs

The Beatles in Stereo was released in September of 2009 it instantly became the standard for The Beatles albums. These remastered versions sound far better than the old discs from the late 80s. When when I compare the remastered CDs to the old CDs it’s like the old CDs are under a pile of old blankets while the new remastered CDs sound very clear so that all of the vocals and instrumentation push through the mixes instead of being muffled.

The Remastered Beatles in Stereo Box Set isn’t the only box set by The Beatles released in September of ‘09 but it has been the biggest seller since it appeals to the widest range of fans. The Remastered Beatles Mono Box Set is excellent too but it appeals mostly to purists who want to listen to the mono mixes (because the mono mixes are what the band themselves worked on) than to an fan. Although there are definitely songs that sound better in mono than in stereo (especially some of the pre 1967 recordings) overall I think the stereo set does sound the best.

The fantastic thing about The Remastered Beatles in Stereo Box Set is that it lets you to acquire The Beatles entire 1960s discography with just one purchase and considering the high quality of most of their CDs, it makes sense to purchase all of The Beatles albums at one time instead of buying some and going back for the rest later.

As well as the wonderful ground breaking music included in this box set there are some really cool visual elements, most obviously the DVD with 13 mini documentaries on it (one for each studio album.) Along with the DVD there are also extended liner notes for each album (there is some interesting information in these notes, especially for fans that are new to The Beatles) and some interesting previously unpublished photos.

I am such a huge Beatles lover that I have ordered (or am planning on ordering) The Beatles Stereo Box, The Beatles Mono Box, The Beatles USB Stick, and The Beatles Rock Band. But if I had to pick just one of these items, it would be the complete stereo box because it’s the best way to listen to their music and after all, it is their influential albums that made them the most legendary band of all time.
